Censorship resistant self hostable distributed platforms I currently recommend, using free, open source, p2p, dht, torrent and blockchain tech.

(now with federated servers!)

You should be connected to one another, forever.

Social networks:

(manyverse is mobile only at the moment, uses the secure-scuttlebutt protocol and is truly p2p) New and I think it has potential due to ease of use.

Patchwork: A lot like facebook, twitter, email, and discord. Doesn't need an internet connection, you can sync with friends over local networks.  Has private channels "pubs". You'll need a pub to see friends on the internet. I might start one.

As far as I can tell it's the most popular SSB software that is actively developed. Mac, Linux, Windows. Open source.

https://mastodon.social/about (1503 nodes as of this writing) - the largest at the moment. 1.5 million users and growing. Massively popular in japan now with 450k+ users.

diasporafoundation.org 195 nodes, about a million users, as of this day.

More general un-censorable web projects:

https://zeronet.io/ (not anonymous by default, but supports tor) Uncensorable domains as long as someone is online. Super popular with mainland china. Actively developed. Very busy.

Chat:

https://tox.chat/ there's many, but this one is good.
